The Last Night of the Proms is the flagship concert featuring Lee Bradley and The English National Philharmonic Orchestra. Quintessentially British, the Last Night of the Proms is an event that attracts thousands of people from right across the UK. Generally an open-air concert, it is often hosted by some of Britain’s most famous castles and stately homes, providing stunning backdrops for our productions.
THE EXPERIENCE
In recent years, we have been honoured to have presenters such as Gyles Brandreth and BBC’s Fiona Bruce host this annual spectacular.
The conductor of the English National Philharmonic Orchestra leads an enjoyable and varied programme suited to all musical tastes. The first half of this classical spectacular features a mixture of popular classics, ranging from well-known movie themes and classical favourites to celebrated operatic arias led by our international guest tenor and soprano soloists.
THE EMOTION
The Last Night of the Proms Classical Spectacular is an emotionally charged, fun, engaging event the whole family will love. It promises to be a night to remember for a long time to come.
The second half features all the well-loved Last of Night of the Proms songs and British patriotic anthems you would expect such as "Land of Hope and Glory" (Elgar’s "Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1"), the Fantasia of British Sea Songs which includes "Rule Britannia", “Jerusalem", the National Anthem, and "Auld Lang Syne".
If you're familiar with the BBC Last Night of The Proms coverage, you'll know this is when ‘Prommers’, dressed in unusual clothing festooned with Union Jacks and brandishing Union Jack flags, really come alive! They rousingly sing along, move in time with the music, and join in with whistles and hoots. Often, the musical grand finale is set to a spectacular fireworks display.
